Why This Training?

Pregnancy... a time of amazing intensity, expansion and adjustment. Teaching Prenatal Yoga is so much more than just Do's and Don'ts. The Pregnant Person needs teachers who can confidently speak to their needs, provide a place of comfort and support as well as show them how to access an inner strength and wisdom. We as a culture are waking up to the importance of pre and postnatal health and this training will have you front and center in that conversation.

This is a training that honors a birthing persons many phases and stages throughout their life, especially the awesome rite of passage through pregnancy and birth. Our prenatal yoga teacher training fuses scientific knowledge of the pregnant body with safe practices of dynamic, meditative and nurturing movements as well as offering holistic approach with a spiritual thread for a layered learning experience.

ABOUT THE PRENATAL YOGA TEACHER TRAINING

Led by Jessica Fawcett E-RYT 500, RPYT, Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, ​as well as an array of working birth professionals. Students can expect to gain a deeper understanding of the prenatal body, how to develop classes that will speak to the needs of a prenatal student, as well as study up to date research and methods within the birth work field that will support students in becoming a teacher who can guide with confidence.  

We believe the role of a well educated and passionate Prenatal yoga teacher can make a large impact on the overall health and wellness of our communities.

This training will draw from a rich history of birthing wisdom and will take you through a journey as you explore your own beliefs surrounding birth.

Requirements

Students wishing to take the Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training should meet the following requirements:

  • Yoga Teacher Training Completed (200hr or equivalent)*

  • If not 200hr (or equivalent) certified, should have an in depth understanding of the asana (physical) yoga practice*

  • A willingness and desire to learn NEW ways of teaching yoga in pregnancy that differ from yoga taught to the general population

  • Reliable internet access with ability for audio and video connection

  • This training is open to ALL. However, an in depth background and understanding of yoga asana and the structure of a yoga class is helpful for students to have the best possible experience in this training. This course is taught with the assumption that students are NOT entirely new to the practice of yoga and prior knowledge is assumed. Additionally, there is no required proof of the above nor an entrance exam. We will support you with where you are throughout the training. Calendar + Schedule

The course runs from Sept. 13th, 2027 through January 30th, 2028

Live Lectures are on Tuesdays from 9:30am to 12:30pm.

A recorded Prenatal Yoga Class will be provided for each week. It will be beneficial but not required to view and take the pre-recorded class before each weekly lecture.

All lectures will be recorded and available for viewing within 24hrs of the live lecture. 

Attendance at live lectures is NOT required (but very much beneficial), however viewing of all lectures, yoga classes, and additional videos is necessary for completion of the manual, course completion and certification.

Attendance at the final exit interview and practicum are required LIVE and will be scheduled on an individual basis.

Certification Requirments

Upon completion of the course students must complete the following within one year of course end date to receive full certification as a Prenatal Yoga Teacher:

  • Viewing of all weekly course lectures either LIVE or recorded

  • Viewing/participation of all weekly prenatal yoga classes

  • Completion of the manual work

  • Pass the final exam with 75% or higher

  • LIVE Attendance and passing of the exit interview and final practicum (will be scheduled on an individual basis)

  • Complete all required reading and book report*

  • Complete prenatal yoga class observation and teaching requirements*
